Lanzarote and Fuerteventura

Lanzarote, the most easterly of the Canary Islands, lies in the Atlantic Ocean just 100 km off the coast of Africa. Lanzarote is 60 km long north to south and only 20 km wide. It comprises of seven municipalities: Arrecife (the island's capital), Haría, San Bartolomé, Teguise, Tías, Tinajo and Yaiza. There are three tourist resorts: Puerto del Carmen (the largest resort), Costa Teguise and Playa Blanca.

Fuerteventura, the second largest and oldest of the Canary Islands has over 150 stunning beaches and enjoys a similar climate to Lanzarote. The main resorts are Corralejo in the North, Caleta de Fuste on the East coast, and Jandía, the southernmost peninsula.

Climate - The Fortunate Island

The islands enjoy an average temperature of 22ºC all year-round. Lanzarote and Fuerteventura enjoy a mild dry climate with average daytime temperatures ranging from about 21ºC in January to 29ºC in August. Annual rainfall is just 140mm (5.5 inches). With year round sunshine and very little rainfall, Lanzarote and Fuertevneutra are the perfect destinations at any time of the year.

Most European airports are 3.5 - 4 hours away, and with plenty of scheduled and charter flights available, Lanzarote and Fuerteventura are very close destinations.
